Last night and the day before have been tough with back to back POD losses. The teams we backed did not hit and today I have looked more to the offense to get us some punch rather than focusing so much on the pitching match up. I like the way Blanton is pitching with a 3.32 ERA in his last 3 game starts. The Phillies will face a familiar friend in Jon Garland who they have absolutely murdered in the past. The Phillies roster has 228 AB and have a .325 average and .934 OPS. Garland has been great at home, but I"m afraid he has met his kryptonite here on Saturday late afternoon. The Phillies are starting to get healthy and are 14-6 in their last 20 vs. RH starter. 6-1 in Blanton's last 7 starts vs. a winning team and 53-25 vs. NL West including 22-8 in their last 30 at San Diego.
